‘The
best change model I have ever seen’ Chris Wareham, Management
Development Manager, RIAS
About
this booklet
There
is no question
that change leadership continues to be high on the agenda for most
organisations. The problem facing many people comes down to two key
issues. Firstly there is the need to exercise sound judgement and to
make the right decision. The last thing an organisation needs is to
implement decisions that result in things becoming worse not better.
Secondly there is the critical issue of how to engage people in the
change process. Many great change ideas have failed because they have
been met with resistance or apathy from the people charged with their
implementation. This booklet deals with both of these issues and
guides you through the key issues to consider and to manage
It
is not a text book or an academic reference. It is designed to be
used as follows:
- It
can be used as a core part of a training programme on change
leadership to prompt group discussions, debate and action planning.
- It can b used as part
of a coaching session. A coach might use some of the questions and
challenges to get the person being coached to reflect on changes
that have taken place and to plan for specific changes they wish to
introduce
- It
can be used by a manager/leader/director with their own team. The
questions and concepts presented in this booklet are powerful ways
to help facilitate a team discussion about how the team manages
change and how it might improve their approach to change leadership
in the future. Either the manager can work with the material or an
expert facilitator can guide people through the process
- It can be used as a self
development workbook for someone interested in expanding their
understanding of change leadership
